— Delaware Valley Elementary School (DVES) held its first "Leader in Me Pep Rally" in an auditorium filled with students, teachers, and parents.
The DVES chorus with their beautiful voices led us in the Star Spangled Banner.
The pep rally was held to teach us "The Seven Habits of Happy Kids." We learned that Habit 1 is to be responsible. Habit 2 taught us to begin with the end in mind. In Habit 3 we should spend time on important things and to be responsible. Thinking win win is Habit 4. Habit 5 tells us to seek first to understand then be understood. In Habit 6, being together is better, and Habit 7 taught us that balance feels best.
Even the DV Marching Band played for the school! We noticed when the conductors point their hands towards the wall, the band players on the outside play louder than the band players in the middle. The conductors use fists to stop playing, and when the band conductors point up, the band starts to play louder.
DVE-News/TV reporters had the opportunity to catch up with DV High School student Matt Cavallaro. As class president, he said that people look up to you as a leader, also in being a football player. He has fun playing football and misses being at DVES.
The student reporters also met up with Emily Gelormino. She believes that if you are a leader, people should look up to you. She also said this was the first time she was in the new school, and seeing everyone brought back many memories. Both Matt Cavallaro and Emily Gelormino were speakers at the pep rally.
All of a sudden, eight DV cheerleaders came out to cheer for us, and the DV mascot arrived! The cheerleaders performed many stunts for us and did a stunt after each habit was announced. With more cheers for DV, the cheerleaders pepped up the pep rally.
