Lindsey Toomer, DV newspaper editor, wins journalism scholarship

Lindsey Toomer of the Delaware Valley High School Class of 2017, pictured above with Ryan Balton, won the Del.Aware Communications/Media Scholarship at the school’s scholarship night in June. Toomer was editor-in-chief of the high school’s newspaper, the Del.Aware. She plans to study journalism at Emerson College in Boston this fall. The $250 scholarship was presented for the sixth year by Balton, DV Class of 2007, with the assistance of the DV Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports students in the district. Balton was editor-in-chief of the student newspaper ten years ago and is now a freelance television camera operator. (Photo provided)
