Little ones light up at Columns celebration
By Frances Ruth Harris
MILFORD — Once upon a time, The Foundation Room at the Columns museum was a night club. Last Saturday night, it was the scene of another swinging good time, for kids and their families.
Hosted by Tim Kelly of Haunted Milford, the party included a hot chocolate station, movie showings, and a crafts station where children made ornaments to the sounds of Christmas music. Everyone enjoyed “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
(Those who came for “Frosty the Snowman” will have to wait until next year — the disc was not in working order.)
Children watched the Christmas classics on bean bags and laps. Santa listened to requests for what he should put under the tree this Sunday night. All the little ones making their recommendations promised Santa they had been very good indeed, all year long.
Cookies, brownies, popcorn, tiny round donuts, empanadas (beef and chicken) and cocoa kept everybody's spirits up.
Adults delighted in the festive atmosphere every bit as much as the kids did.
