    Michael J. Gable Sr. of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2016, at home. He was 64.
    Son of the late (Jack) Clarence and (Ginny) Virginia (O’Neill) Gable, who owned ‘The Gay Bull’ General Store in Dingmans Ferry, he was born on Jan. 18, 1952, in Philadelphia. He was married to Barbara (Donohue) Gable.
    He was a partner of Gable Brothers Ent., Dingmans Ferry, for 15 years, Pike County Deputy Sheriff for 10 years, member of the St. Vincent DePaul Church, Milford, Pa., and a member of the Tilgman Angle Smith American Legion Post # 851, Dingmans Ferry, Pa.
    He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division, Screaming Eagles from 1972 to 1977
    A family statement said: "Mike blessed his family daily through his passions of cooking and building. He loved being in the kitchen, on the grill, sharing his creations with everyone who entered. Mike valued and treasured family life and his many friends. He loved all his dogs, especially Boo. As an avid and accurate bow hunter he found peace in the great outdoors for many years, which he forever engraved in his children. Michael was with Barbara for 36 wonderful years. He was known for his keen sense of humor, endless generosity and huge heart. He would be satisfied by making everyone smile. He will be deeply missed, he was taken too soon."
    Survivors include his wife; three children, Amy Gable of Dingmans Ferry, Thomas Gable of Dingmans Ferry, Michael J. Gable Jr. of New York; sister, Linda Bond and her husband, Jim, of Sterling, Pa.; brother, Steven Gable and his wife, Susan, of Dingmans Ferry; and nephew, Brandon Gable of Dingmans Ferry.
    Visitation will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Milford, on Friday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Mullen officiating. Burial will follow in Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry.
