Milford. Concert/BBQ to benefit the Hometown Heroes Banners Program

The DV Area Hometown Heroes Banners Program will be hosting a BBQ/Concert Fundraiser on Sunday June 4 at the Milford American Legion Post 139, 103 County Rd 2001, Milford, from 1 to 6 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun and help support the program.

Tickets will be $20 at the door. There will be a cash bar, 50/50 and a mini tricky tray with lots of great prizes to win. Music will be provided by the local band “Soul Riders” and shirts will be available to purchase. Proceeds benefit the DV Area Banner Program.

The program was created in 2019 by six Navy Moms who wanted to recognize and honor our Delaware Valley area Military members, both veterans and those currently serving.

At its launch in 2019, there were many obstacles to overcome and lots of money needed to fund the program. Many fundraisers were held to get the program off the ground and lots of dedicated hard work was necessary to see the banners hung in the Milford Area.

In 2021, with a group of new volunteers added to the program, the second round of banners began. In November of 2021 through November 2023 the second round of banners were proudly hung throughout the Westfall/Milford area for all to see and honor our local DV Area Service Members.

As the group is now in the midst of its third round of banners (which will hang from Nov 2023 through Nov 2025), the program continues to grow, thanks to the help from local community leaders, businesses and so many local residents for their continued support.
