The sixth annual Working Pike Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing, 120 US-6 in Matamoras, according to an announcement by the Pike County Commissioners and Workforce Development Agency.

The event is expected to have employers from across the tri-state area, with vacant positions ranging from entry-level to managerial in a variety of sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, financial, manufacturing, warehouse, law enforcement and sales.

The organization known as Working Pike is a group dedicated to building a stronger community through partnership of government, community, faith-based and private organizations.

This year’s job fair sponsors include Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau, Lackawanna College Lake Region Center, the Best Western Inn at Hunts Landing, Bold Gold Media and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.

There is no fee for job seekers and no RSVP necessary. Come dressed to impress and bring your resume. Contact the Workforce Development Agency at (570) 296-2909 if you need help creating or updating your resume.

“The Workforce Development Agency does a great job recruiting employers to attend this event,” said Pike County Commissioner Matthew Osterberg. “Ensuring there is ample, sustainable jobs available within the county is an issue the Commissioners care deeply about. A significant number of Pike residents travel out of the county for work. The Working Pike Job Fair presents an excellent opportunity for individuals to explore local positions.”

WDA is recommending employers register early. Tables are limited and space is filling up. The registration forms are available online at www.pikepa.org/workforce. The fee is $55.

Employers can either register and pay online with a credit card or register online and pay by check. Please know that employers who choose to pay online with a credit card will be charged a 3% convenience fee.
