— Sophia Nicholas of Milford, a 17-year-old high school senior, has founded Sophia’s Bundles of Love, a charity that provides special care packages to children living with chronic illnesses, cancer, and special needs, as well as their siblings.
Each package is created for the child's age and interests. Each contains coloring books, markers, crayons, watercolor paints, bubbles, puzzles, a themed throw blanket, doodle pads, and many other fun items.
The goal is for these packages to help distract children battling difficult conditions and to put a smile on their faces.
Health problems can create a huge strain on families and put siblings through unimaginable suffering, which is why Sophia includes them in this special project. She plans to deliver packages to inpatients at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y., every two months.
The program is for children in the United States under 18 years old. If you would like your child to receive a package, send a message to:

Include in your message your child’s age, condition, whether he or she is an inpatient, and mailing address. If they have siblings, include their names and interests as well.
