On Broadway introduces new adult dance and fitness programs

DINGMANS FERRY — On Broadway of Dingmans Ferry has been offering dance and performing arts classes — ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, gymnastics, hip-hop and pre K combination classes — to children, teens, and adults in the community since 2002.
The studio now presents a full program of daytime adult fitness, sports conditioning, and ballet classes to be taught by Preston R. McCollum: Dance, Sports & Lifestyle Fitness Coach.
Preston has more than 30 years of experience as a dance and gymnastics teacher at Kennett School of Ballet & Gymnastics in Goshen, N.Y. He studied dance at London School of Contemporary Dance. While studying in England, his teachers were Lynn Seymour, Janet Goodrich, and Clement Crisp.
In the United States he studied under the tutelage of Master teacher, Marya Kennett. He has also taken class with Phil Black in New York City, and at Alvin Ailey. He has taught internationally in Japan, the U.S., and England, and formed a ballet company in Japan with Osaca Okawa. Preston has also coached basketball, diving, soccer, volleyball, swimming, weight -training, dance, and gymnastics at Frost Valley YMCA in the U.S. and in Japan.
The studio will be offering the adult classes on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. Adult ballet classes are designed for those who wish to understand the basics of ballet, develop grace and poise, or brush up on technique while getting in shape. Body conditioning classes are for those who want to increase strength, flexibility, and agility, or simply to get fit. Preston has also designed a sports conditioning class for those who want to be on the top of their game, as well as private coaching.
