Pediatrician Emily Nebzydoski now practicing at Highland Physicians

HONESDALE — Pediatrician Emily Nebzydoski has joined the staff of providers at the Highland Physicians Family Health Center, 1839 Fair Avenue, Honesdale.
Dr. Nebzydoski treats children from newborn up to age 18.
"We are excited to have Dr. Nebzydoski among our staff at Highland,” said Frederick Jackson, executive director at Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers. “A good number of pediatric patients are seen at that practice and with the recent retirement of Dr. Jon Sternburg, the addition of Dr. Nebzydoski could not have come at a better time.”
Nebzydoski received her Medical Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa. Her post-doctoral training — pediatric internship and residency — were completed at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, N.Y. A native of Jeffersonville, N.Y., with family ties in Pleasant Mount, Pa., Nebzydoski received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Scranton, becoming the 15th member of her family to become an alumnus of the local school.
“I always knew I wanted to go into medicine,” Nebzydoski said.
However, it wasn’t until after shadowing Scranton pediatrician Dr. Dennis Dawgert during her time as an undergrad that her aspirations leaned towards pediatrics.
“I’ve always enjoyed working with children,” she said.
In addition to general outpatient pediatrics, Dr. Nebzydoski also conducts rounds at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s New Beginnings Birthing Suites.
“The idea of taking care of newborns and then later following up with them as they grow is an especially appealing part of my new position,” she said.
