Pike County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined the recent grand opening of Silver Birch Archery in Matamoras, a retail and repair facility that also has an indoor archery range. Owner Russell Boronow is restarting the 4-H youth archery program, is assisting local Boy Scouts with Archery Merritt Badges, and is starting a target league for adults. “I really wanted to stress the importance of getting the kids involved,” he said. “Archery is an amazing sport. I learned to use a bow at nine years old and have loved it ever since. I want to be able do that for others.” Silver Birch Archery is located at 1005 Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 209) in Matamoras, next to Wells Fargo Bank.
