Pocono Flute Society offers scholarship

MILFORD — The Pocono Flute Society will award a $250 scholarship to a high school senior who plays flute in their school music program.
The student must be a resident of Monroe, Pike or Wayne County, and must begin college in the fall. The student does not need to plan on being a college music major.
Interested students may apply online at poconoflutesociety.org. The application deadline is June 15, and the winner will be notified on or around July 1, 2016. The scholarship amount will be given to the student upon the completion of their first semester of college.
The scholarship was established by society member Nancy Costanzo in memory of her mother, Anne Smolik Gera.
