— The Delaware Valley School District recently caught the attention of Governor Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania School Board Association.
Pam Lutfy, who currently serves as president of the school board, received a special mention for her long of service of 20 years as a school board member. Her name was published on the Association publication’s Honor Roll, along with others in the state.
Lutfy posed for the photo beaming, holding her certificate in the recent school board meeting at Dingman-Delaware Middle School library.
Her school website describes her experience, which includes working in the school district providing language and hearing therapy for children.
Lutfy holds a master’s degree in special education and the neuropsychology of language disorders from East Stroudsburg and Columbia universities.
She owns the Sunshine Station Early Learning Centers II, III, and I in Westfall/Milford Townships, Milford Borough and Delaware Township.
Among her many activities is supervising before and after-school care and summer camp. And she’s an active advocate in the community for persons with special needs, as well as one of the founders of Pike County United Way.
The students in the district also received recognition as part of the district’s DVE-TV program. The kids interviewed Governor Wolf, and got their photo taken with him for the Pennsylvania School Board Association’s publication. They traveled to Harrisburg for the interview.
They've interviewed other famous people, including presidents, legislators, cabinet secretaries, authors and celebrities, according to the photo caption in the magazine.
The DVE-TV student reporters report news daily in the school district.
