Rite Aid opens in Port Jervis

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rite Aid building at 100 Pike Street in Port Jervis next to the newly constructed Burger King was held on Oct. 29.

The stand-alone building, slated by Ellicott Development Company for the west side of the parking lot in the Pike Plaza, will include 14,673 square feet of retail space, as well as a drive-up pharmacy window.

The original Rite Aid store in Port Jervis was displaced from the Pike Plaza in June 2011 after water poured through the Plaza’s ceiling, resulting in closure of the entire building after an inspection revealed further structural infirmities. Rite Aid was able to find a temporary home on Front Street, with the help of the Port Jervis Mayor’s Office.
