Safe Haven offers two child safety events

— Safe Haven of Pike County is holding two child safety events in recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The fourth annual Child Safety Fair will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 101 St. Vincent Drive (Route 739), in Milford. Families will enjoy music, food, art and crafts, and face painting, along with other fun and informational activities to promote the important and necessary message of child safety.

Safe Haven is also hosting a “Child Abuse Town Hall” to inform the public about Pike County’s multidisciplinary response to child abuse. Panelists include Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin, representatives from Pennsylvania State Police (Blooming Grove), and staff members from Pike County Children and Youth Services and Safe Haven. Each panelist will address her/his agency’s response to child abuse, and questions will be taken at the end of the presentation. This event will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at the Pike County Public Library, 19 East Harford St., Milford.

Safe Haven's Sexual Assault Awareness Month sponsors are: Davis Chant Real Estate, Glass King, Sharon and Gene Lewis, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Pike County Taxi, Ray’s Auto Repair, Wayne Memorial Health System, and Wisspering Pines Greenhouses and Landscaping.
