Safe Haven prepares for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April
MILFORD — Safe Haven of Pike County is making plans for April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a monthlong opportunity for community outreach, professional training, and family-friendly events to support victims and survivors of sexual assault.
Safe Haven encourages the community to be involved in many different ways. It all starts at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, with a proclamation at meeting of the Pike County Commissioners. Afterward Safe Haven’s Executive Director, David Bever, will enlist the men of Pike County and surrounding areas to sign and show their support to “Stand up Against Sexual Assault." There will be a public petition available in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room in the Pike County Administrative Offices located at 506 Broad St., Milford for all men in the community to sign, in support of eradicating sexual assault.
