Nadeen Manzoni, director of elections and voter registration at the Pike County Board of Elections, came to talk with fifth graders at the Delaware Valley Elementary School about the importance of voting.

She encouraged the students to talk with their parents to make sure they are registered to vote. She also said that one person can make a difference. She spoke about a school board election a few years ago, where there was a tie. Then the votes came in from the military, which changed the outcome of the election.

Ms. Manzoni gave the fifth graders a sample ballot to fill out and had them experience the process of casting their ballots.
