Sunday activities for families offered at the Upper Delaware Visitor Center

LACKAWAXEN — Families are invited to join the Delaware Highlands Conservancy at the Upper Delaware Visitor Center at 176 Scenic Drive in Lackawaxen for special children's activities from noon to 3 p.m. everu Sunday in January and February.
Kids will learn how to identify eagles and where to find them, watch a short video, and then work with volunteers to create a craft, like an eagle puppet, magnets, necklaces, and lanyards. Children must remain accompanied by a parent or caregiver at all times.
The National Park Service supports the center to provide information for visitors looking to learn more about viewing and protecting eagles. Visitors can pick up information about the bald eagle in the Upper Delaware River region, view exhibits, get maps and directions to eagle viewing locations. The center is staffed and open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays in January and February, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Conservancy’s Eagle Watch program is supported in part by grant funding from the American Eagle Foundation; the Land Trust Alliance; Orange and Rockland; Sullivan County; and The Philadelphia Foundation.
The Delaware Highlands Conservancy works with landowners and communities to protect the healthy lands, clean waters, eagles and other wildlife, and locally sustainable economies of the Upper Delaware River region. For more information, call 570-226-3164 or email info@delawarehighlands.org.
