— About 50 people came for a sit-down Thanksgiving feast at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church dining hall in Milford.
Roy Hull and Steve Davis, with the help of volunteers galore, made Thanksgiving a community dinner available to all. Viola Canouse added to the buffet a huge container of her famous dressing. Mikki and Donna Weiss brought a donation. Families came to help pack dinners. Cub Scout Jacob Gutschmidt was helping along with his father, Aaron.
Hull delivered Thanksgiving dinners in Pike County 34 years ago, when he was 35 years old. Davis joined him 33 years ago. Both haven't missed a Thanksgiving since.
Volunteers teamed up to help them deliver 125 Thanksgiving dinners this year. They came early to help cook, pack, and deliver meals.
Rachel Aschoff, holding an apple pie, said this is her favorite thing to do on Thanksgiving.
"It's the definition of Thanksgiving," she said.
