This year’s Community Clean Up Day to honor Paul Labounty
Milford. Businesses, schools, youth groups and non-profit organizations are encouraged to assemble teams and encourage volunteers to come together for a day to “polish and shine” our county seat. The Milford Enhancement Committee has announced that the annual Community Cleanup Day in Milford Borough will be held on Saturday, April 23.
This year, the Community Cleanup Day honors Paul Labounty, a long-time member of the Milford Shade Tree Commission. He is a retired U.S. Forest Service ranger who has lived in Milford Borough since 1990 and has served on the Milford Shade Tree Commission since 2000.
“Paul may be responsible for personally participating in the digging of more holes and planting more trees in Milford Borough than any other single individual in our recent history,” said Dale Thatcher, chair of the Milford Shade Tree Commission.

“Last year, more than 200 volunteers participated,” said Eileen Smith, vice chair of the Milford Enhancement Committee. “They were of all ages, from all over eastern Pike County and from differing backgrounds and perspectives, but working together — to improve our community — made for a special and inspiring day.”
Milford Mayor Sean Strub, who chairs the Milford Enhancement Committee, said, “Last year’s Community Cleanup Day, honoring Bill Kiger, was an exceptional example of how we can all help create greater unity by working together for community improvement.”
Mulch and pizza
