Tri-State Girls World Expo a success

GOSHEN — By 11 a.m. on Oct. 30, a line had begun curling around and down the side of Palacio Conference Center. Hundreds of girls from ages 11 to 17 grouped together outside, waiting for the doors to open for the much-anticipated Tri-State Girls World Expo, which is co-hosted by Straus News.
When the event began at noon, girls were greeted with welcome bags and a jam-packed itinerary. The Expo featured seminars and live entertainment throughout the course of the day. All of the seminars, from Quest Financial’s “Top 5 Money Lessons” to Dr. Stacey Radin’s “How to Be Brave,” were filled with girls eager to learn and share ideas.
In between these mini-events, attendees enjoyed a marketplace filled with local vendors, which offered free aerial yoga lessons, manicures, hair styling, make-up, self-defense lessons, car maintenance tips, a photo booth, and more.
“We had a really great turnout,” said Girls World President Varinda Missett. “The girls were all so engaged and excited to both learn and have a good time. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
