Upper Delaware S&RR joins national Find Your Park movement
Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River joins parks, programs and partners across the country to encourage everyone to find their park and share their stories online at FindYourPark.com.
Launched by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, Find Your Park is a public awareness and education campaign celebrating the milestone centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016 and setting the stage for its second century of service.
Find Your Park invites the public to see that a national park can be more than a place — it can be a feeling, a state of mind, or a sense of American pride. Beyond vast landscapes, the campaign highlights historical, urban, and cultural parks, as well as the National Park Service programs that protect, preserve and share nature, culture, and history in communities nationwide.
Come “Find Your Park” at Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River or any of the other 407 units of the National Park Service. “Find Your Park” at the Upper Delaware by exploring the various hiking trails in the river corridor, walking across the historic Roebling Bridge, joining the Zane Grey Festival, or visiting any of the public accesses along the river to try a hand at fishing for trout or shad this spring. There will also be a variety of special centennial activities going on in the park this year.
“There is something for everyone at Upper Delaware S&RR,” stated Superintendent Kris Heister. “We invite our visitors and area residents to help us celebrate the Centennial of the National Park Service by getting out to enjoy the resources within the Delaware River corridor and to share their stories about that experience."
