What stores will be opened, or closed, on Thanksgiving?

In recent years, the competition between retailers has led to stores opening earlier, now during Thanksgiving Day celebrations. So, a holiday meant for giving thanks has been changed by the retail industry where people are now trading the meal and time with family by creating a new tradition based on consumerism.
Days before the sales begin, people are setting up tents, chairs and sleeping bags in line outside of shopping malls and big-box stores in an attempt to be one of the first to get the bargain deals.
Despite the alteration of Thanksgiving traditions in America, several stores nationwide are opting not to open until the following day.
