Lots of work to be done in the borough this year
MILFORD Councilman Vince Accordino warned Monday that motorists are likely to experience delays both in and around the Borough of Milford this year, as a good deal of construction is planned. Accordino mentioned bridge work, including a US Route 209 bridge south of Milford, and the interstate Matamoras-Port Jervis bridge, but his main concern was 19 work areas, where some 7,900 feet of water mains will be replaced on borough streets. The streets and lengths of pipe included are: East Ann, from Second to Third, 530 feet Second, from East Ann to East Harford, 390 feet East Harford, from Second to Minerva, 182 feet Ninth, from West Harford to James, 355 feet Eighth, from West Harford to James, 362 feet Eighth, from James to Mill, 234 feet James, from Ninth to Eighth, 374 feet James, from Eighth to Seventh, 400 feet Third, from East Ann to East Catharine, 409 feet Third, from East Catharine to East High,384’ Third, from East High to East George, 415 feet East High, from Fourth to Third, 571 feet East High, from Third to Broad, 525 feet West John, from Sixth to Fifth, 530 feet Fifth, from West John to Sarah, 377 feet Fifth, from West John to West George, 398 feet West High, from Sixth to Seventh, 598 feet Seventh, from West Harford to SR 2001, 556 feet Broad, from West John to Sarah, 300 feet Accordino also asked public cooperation in renumbering many borough street addresses to comply with 911 emergency response needs.
