Math team adds it all up

DINGMAN The Dingman-Delaware MathCounts team took first place at the regional competition on Feb. 19 at the Penn State Worthington Campus in Scranton. The team finished first out of seven other northeast PA teams to advance to the state competition, which will be held in Harrisburg on March 29. Matthew White finished first among all the competitors and first place in the final countdown round. Teammates Anthony Handwerker placed second in the countdown round and Alyssa Loveall placed third. Alyssa placed sixth overall, but beat the third through fifth place competitors in the head-to-head competition to advance to third. The four team members that will advance to the state competition are: Matthew White (8th grade), Anthony Handwerker (7th grade), Alyssa Loveall (8th grade), and Erin Hartmann (8th grade). The four other students that competed as individuals at the competition are: Rick DiAgostino, Becky Blatzheim, Annmarie Mullen, and Jordan Truijillo
