Student graphic artists entries sought Milford — Milford Brand Marketing (MBM) announces the launch of its first public contest, to obtain a logo for its Milford branding campaign. The contest begins Nov. 9 and ends the Dec. 15. The grand prize, $500 cash, will be awarded in mid January. MBM is a group of activist volunteer businesspeople in Milford. They know Milford could not afford a massive marketing campaign for very long. Instead, they are developing a branding campaign that every business can help spread, simply by employing the logo on everything they do already. Every retailer, every contractor, every doctor, accountant and home worker is encouraged to download the logo and apply it freely. MBM would love its message to travel with the marketing that everyone already does, in the publications and websites targeted to their customers. In this way, Milford’s brand will become more recognizable in far more places than any one campaign could accomplish. But first, Milford needs a logo. The contest is open to all high school students in Pike County. They may enter as often as they like, electronically submitting their creations to an e-mail address, or delivering hardcopy to the Tom Quick Inn in Milford. The winner’s work will be converted into electronically downloadable packages for all to employ on their own fliers, posters, ads, business cards, sandwich boards, websites, blogs, e-mail signatures….. anywhere they already promote themselves. MBM intends to run a series of contests over the coming months and years, to develop all kinds of Milford-branded goods and services. Community involvement is key; MBM wants everyone to participate at some level. The idea is simply to give focus and direction to commerce in Milford.
