The DV band provided the marching music, the chamber of commerce appeared to have supplied the weather, several hundred flag-waiving bystanders provided applause and Pike County area veterans provided dignity and color as they marched up Broad Street while Milford celebrated Memorial Day last Monday. At Memorial Park, following the parade, Marine Corps Col. Mark Goldner delivered the address and spoke on the theme of humility. “My strongest emotion today is humility. I am humbled. I am humbled by thoughts of the men and women we honor on Memorial Day - the men and women who served and sacrificed their very lives for this great country - made that sacrifice for you and me.”
