New director chosen for Pike commerce
MILFORD - The Partnership for Pike County’s three economic development organizations (Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Development Authority, and the Industrial Development Corporation) has announced the selection of its next Executive Director. Amy L. Gruzesky of Factoryville will replace outgoing Executive Dave Wilson, who is retiring at the end of April. Amy is presently the Executive Director of the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau in Tunkhannock. She manages this organization of some 230 members which is responsible for promoting tourism and tourism-related business in the four counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Wyoming. Previously Amy served as Director of Public Affairs and Development at the Earth Conservancy in Ashley and prior to that was a regional reporter/correspondent for the Scranton Times. She is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in Journalism. Her professional affiliations include the Northeast Network, a professional organization for women in Northeast PA; where she served as President from 2005 to 2007. Amy is also on the Board of the PA Route 6 Tourist Association, serving as Vice President from 2005 to 2007. She is also a Director of the Endless Mountains Heritage Region. The Search Committee was made up of representatives of the four Boards involved in the partnership: County Commissioners, Pike County Chamber, Pike County Industrial Development Authority, and the Pike County Industrial Development Corporation. The committee unanimously expressed its enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to have found someone so imminently qualified; we look forward to Amy’s leadership as we pursue the next phase of economic development in Pike County,” said Commissioner Harry Forbes.
