WESTFALL — Some 5,351 students all found their way to school Monday morning as the Delaware Valley School District shook off the summer haze and plunged into the new school year. Superintendent Dr. Candis Finan confirmed that supervisors around the district all reported the best starting day ever. The buses were timely and “no one was left standing by the curb,” she said. Finan said the second day this year brought 5,387 students. Opening day population was down from the 5,435 starting the last school year, but she said numbers usually are fluid for the first week and a half. “By day 10 last year, we added 110 students,” she said.
