MILFORD — “We’ll destroy the competition,” said Marketing Director Jeff Bauer of PA Mattress Factory which recently celebrated its grand opening in Milford. The owner of the PA Mattress Factory, Arline Woronoff, has been in the furniture business for over 20 years. Woronoff had a retail store in Middletown N.Y. and wanted to be closer to her Lords Valley home and chose to relocate her business to Milford. “We have a large selection of mattresses with better prices and give impeccable service,” reported Bauer. Instead of a store manager, owner Worornoff will be on hand to take care of customers, which they believe will be part of their competitive edge. The grand opening was held six weeks after first being open to the public. The store has a large selection of many brands of mattresses and also offer bunk beds, day beds and futons along with other bedroom accessories. The two level store has bedding and frames on the street level and bunk beds, day beds and futons on the upper level. The entire store is handicapped accessible. Off street parking is at the rear of the store. Asked about sales expectations in a predominantly tourism-based town like Milford, Bauer said, “We look forward to the tourists. When they see how nice Milford is and buy a second home here we’ll provide all the bedding for their needs.” They plan strategic advertising stressing low prices, quality products and great service. Bauer told the Courier people have to replace their bedding because mattresses wear out in time. Their prices range from $299 to as high as $3,000 or $4,000 for high end luxury king size mattress and box spring sets which include a frame. The PA Mattress Factory at 113 West Harford Street, will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday with shorter hours on Sunday. They can be reached at 296-6244.
