NEWTON, N.J. — It’s all about passion. That statement captures the unbridled enthusiasm for cooking that has made celebrity chef Nick Stellino into a household name. The author of several cookbooks and a featured guest on national television shows, including the Oprah Winfrey Show and Good Morning America, Stellino will be the celebrity chef at the VIP room of this year’s An Evening of Wine & Roses. The event will be held Thursday, Apr. 16 at Legends Resort & Country Club in the McAfee section of Vernon. Sponsored by RoNetco Supermarkets, An Evening of Wine & Roses will feature the region’s most impressive culinary delights and the world’s best-tasting wines. Those 100 persons who enter the car raffle at $1,000 per ticket will have an opportunity to win a new 2009 Porsche Cayman provided by Newton Motor Sports. The Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation established a new tradition two years ago at the annual event by bringing in a world renowned celebrity chef to add texture to an evening that revolves around delicious meals and wonderful wines. Stellino is the latest celebrity chef to bring his love of Italian cuisine to VIPs at the event and will also be signing copies of his latest cookbook, “Cooking With Friends,” which also is the title of a companion television program. The event costs $125 per person. VIP room tickets cost $200 per person or $350 per couple. VIP room attendees will have an opportunity to meet the Love Chef and will receive an autographed copy of his most recent cookbook. Please call the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation office at (973) 579-8309 to reserve your place in the VIP room or to purchase a $1,000 ticket for the car raffle. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation Single Room Maternity Revitalization Project.
