The Eastern Pike Regional Police, Matamoras, Westfall, Port Jervis and Sparrowbush fire rescue squads responded to an emergency call at 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26. Police Sgt. Gerald Phlanz said, “Three juveniles were out on the Delaware River when their boat capsized while horseplaying; they were unable to get the water out and had to swim back to shore, boat in tow. They had life jackets with them, but it didn’t appear they were wearing them. Someone was driving over Route 84 and saw they were in distress and called the police.” None of the boys were injured.
