No Milford Music Festival this summer
Milford The Milford Music Festival Board of Directors announced Wednesday that there will be no festival in 2008. “Due to budget constraints, the current and impending economic climate, the Board of Directors have decided that it would best serve our community on a positive note if we focus our energies on the restructuring of the Milford Music Festival for the 2009 season,” Bill Cohen, President of the Milford Music Festival Board of Directors, said in a statement. The Milford Music Festival is not the only organization effected by the economic pinch. Although Altec Lansing once again committed to the festival as the Presenting Sponsor with a very generous contribution, many local businesses have been faced with the hardships associated with the current conditions of the economy. “Without placing any further hardship on the business community with fundraising, the Milford Music Festival will put the festivities on hold to be able to concentrate on ways to improve the festival and its viability from a financial perspective,” the board statement concluded. The Board of Directors encouraged all those that would like to volunteer or contribute to the Festival, to please contact Bill Cohen, President of Milford Music Festival BOD at 570-296-3818.
