Peters Valley names new executive director

Layton, N.J. The Board of Trustees of Peters Valley Craft Center, a nationally recognized non-profit center for fine craftsmanship in Layton, N.J. announces the appointment of Kristin Muller as executive director. Muller, the former education director at Brookfield Craft Center in Brookfield, Conn. brings a lifetime of experience to the position as both an arts educator and as a practicing ceramic artist. Board President, Maleyne Syracuse states, “Kristin’s appointment represents months of hard work on the part of Peters Valley’s Board of Directors and staff. We were committed to bringing an exceptional leader to an exceptional institution and were fortunate to have over 60 highly qualified individuals apply for the position. With her wonderful combination of direct experience in arts education and commitment to the tradition and spirit of craftsmanship, we could not be more pleased to have Kristin on board.” Muller, a noted ceramic artist, is also the author of “The Potter’s Studio Handbook: A Start to Finish Guide to Hand-built and Wheel-thrown Ceramics,” published by Quarry Books. Muller said, “I am thrilled to become part of Peters Valley’s 39-year history of excellence in the arts. Peters Valley Craft Center The non-profit school hosts 150 intensive classes taught by nationally and internationally recognized craft artists. Each year more than 800 students participate in the summer programs.
