Pike chamber fetes volunteers
WESTFALL - The Pike County Chamber of Commerce held its 11th Annual Community Awards Banquet on Friday, Nov. 4th, at the Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing in Matamoras. Over 200 people attended, including some 16 participating organizations. The following volunteers were recognized: Diane Gentile by Blooming Grove Food Pantry/St. John Neuman Good Shepherd Church; Howard Dolan by Bon Secours Community Hospital; Tabitha Pekkala by Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA; RoseAnn Sirico by Delaware Valley High PTSA; Elsie Bensley by Delaware Township-Dingmans Ferry Historical Society; Phyllis & Charlie Dunay by G.A.I.T. Therapeutic Riding Center; Gordon Wildermuth & Tom Zeterberg by The Lackawaxen River Conservancy; Gretel Walker by Milford Garden Club; Dr. Martin Evers and John Wroblewski by Milford-Matamoras Rotary Club; Joan Brink by Penn State Cooperative Extension; Peter & Marie Caffrey by Pike Area Agency on Aging; Dr. Morton Tener by Pike County Developmental Center, Roxanne Scott, Arlene Daddis and Florence Gray by Pike County Historical Society; Karol Sundholm by Pocono Environmental Education Center; Patricia Dolge by United Way of Pike County and Robin Kadlec by Wayne/Pike Adult Literacy Program. The Chamber also made three presentations: Business of the Year, to Luhrs Ace Home Center, Director of the Year, to Stacey Beecher Chelak, Esq. and Volunteer of the Year, to Dolores Brennan. The Chamber also made a special award presentation to retiring Director Barbara J. Buchanan for Outstanding Service to the Chamber and to the residents of Pike County.
