    MILFORD — Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin reported that the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen on July 9: Joshua Cherkes, age 21, of Rowland, was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 72 hours to six months followed by six months of probation, pay a fine of $1,300, ordered to pay restitution, and had his driver’s license suspended for one year for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence, and Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Vehicles. On Sept. 27, 2008, Cherkes, drove his vehicle off the road on Lackawaxen Road in Lackawaxen Township. Cherkes blood alcohol content was .26%. In a separate incident on Dec. 3, 2008, Cherkes was involved in another accident where he failed to stop after hitting another vehicle. Shane Keller, age 29, of Scranton, was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for six to 12 months, and pay a fine of $1,000 for the crimes of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On Sept. 5, 2008, Keller was found in possession of cocaine and a pair of forceps and pen casing items that are used to consume cocaine. Brandon Wheeler, age 26, of East Stroudsburg, was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 30 days to six months, pay a fine of $750, and had his driver’s licenses suspended for one year for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On Oct. 9, 2008, Wheeler, was stopped by the state police on Bushkill Falls Road in Lehman Township, and brought to the Pocono Medical Center for a blood test, which showed Wheeler’s Blood alcohol content was .11%. Karyn Williams-Dauenhauer, age 46, of Hawley, was sentenced the Pike County Jail for five to 23 months, pay a fine of $ 600.00 and ordered to pay restitution to for the crimes of Bad Check and Theft by Unlawful Taking. On Sept. 9, 2008, Williams-Dauenhauer, issued a check to Mullers Auto for $ 228.14 knowing she did not have the money in her account. In a separate incident between July 13, 2007 and Oct. 31, 2007, Williams-Dauenhauer, took $1,719 from an elderly blind woman. Marquise Ferguson, age 23, of East Stroudsburg, was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 11 to 23 months, pay a fine of $500, and ordered to pay restitution for the crime of Simple Assault. On Jan. 4, in Saw Creek Estates, Lehman Township, Ferguson punched the victim in her face causing injury. Allen South, age 35, of Cape Coral, Fla., was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 25 days to 12 months, and pay a fine of $500, for the crime of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Retail Theft. On Feb. 12, 2008, South with his two co-defendants, Craig South, and Robert Guadagno, entered the Wal-Mart in Westfall Township and purchased two televisions. Robert Guadagno then reentered the Wal-Mart and took two identical televisions and used the receipt for the first two televisions. The three then went to a Wal-Mart in New York and tried to return the televisions. Emily Gerson, age 53, of Bushkill, was sentenced to one year probation and pay a fine of $ 500, for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance. On Aug. 7, 2007, Gerson, was found in possession of cocaine in her bedroom. Marc Gerson, age 41, of Bushkill, was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for two to five years, pay a fine of $1,000, and had his driver’s license suspended for six months for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. On Aug. 7, 2007, Gerson was found in possession of 28 grams of cocaine in his bedroom. Bryce Glasner, age 20, of Greentown, was sentenced to pay a fine of $650, for the crimes of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Public Drunkenness. On Jan. 30, Glasner, was found in to be drunk in public and in possession of a plastic baggie containing marihuana.
