Pets available at the Pike County Humane Society SHOHOLA — Check out these pets waiting at the Pike County Humane Society for a family who can take one of them home. Angel: At times content to just lazy around, this gorgeous tortoise-shell domestic long hair 5 year old sweetheart is often mostly outgoing, friendly and playful, enjoying dangling toys and those who will let her rub her head into your hand. Happy to be with people and her feline housemates at the shelter, she does not like the company of dogs and will need a no-canine household. Let her win over your heart with her affectionate and playful nature, and her incredibly beautiful green eyes -- and we bet you’ll be taking her home. Bellinda: This small 15 pound, 2 year old Schipperke tail-wagger is a very energetic cute black pooch that’s best suited to an active adult household or one with older kids. Affectionate, she loves people and likes to snuggle on your lap when she isn’t romping around the yard. Since she does not get along with other dogs or cats or any other small critters, she needs to be the only pet in the family. If Bellinda is true to her breed she will need a lot of activity to vent her energy and keep her mind busy doing interesting things. A clever escape artist with a strong chasing instinct, she needs a well-fenced yard and/or good leash control to keep her from taking off. So, if you’re looking for a feisty and active go-getter who will thrive on exercise, attention and playing games, Bellinda could be your perfect pet. Bunnies: Many boy and girl bunnies, big and small, many different colors are looking for forever homes. Shelter staff can tell you more about each of them. Come and see which lovable bunny you’d like to take home.
