BLOOMING GROVE n The Pike County Republican Committee (PCRC) met last week in Blooming Grove to start off the run to November’s General Election. Incumbent candidates for the Pike County Board of Commissioner, Harry Forbes and Rich Caridi, tallied great numbers in the May Primaries with more than 3,000 votes each. No Democrat candidate for the post topped 1,800 votes during the primaries. “Everyone worked together; that was the root of our successes,” Forbes told the committee. “All of our candidates worked hard and the results were great numbers across the board. We have to keep our united front up now as we head into the fall, and we have to step up our efforts. We have an aggressive board and we are getting a great many things accomplished while maintaining funding streams and there’s much more work to be done.” “All of our candidates ran clean campaigns - some despite the pressures of unfounded personal attacks,” said Caridi. “I’m proud of that and I congratulate you all. Now we have to carry our message to all parts of the county as we head into the fall.” PCRC Chairman Kathy Hummel extended an invitation to all county residents to learn more about the Pike County Republican Committee by visiting www.pikerepulican.org or by attending one of several special events to be announced soon.
