Pike United Way names officers

MILFORD - United Way officers have been elected for the coming year. They include: Mike Peifer has been a member of the Pike United Way Board since its inception in June 1999. His leadership skills have earned him a second term as president. Mike is married and has three children. He and his wife Jen are both Pike County natives. Mike is a CPA in Greentown, serves as Pike County Treasurer, and is a candidate for the state legislature. Lew Gubrud, newly elected vice president, is a retired senior executive with several for-profit and non-profit organizations, including two YMCA’s. Before retiring to Pike County in 2004, Lew volunteered at United Way organizations in New England and New Jersey. More recently, he has used his expertise to help set strategic plans for the future at United Way here. He has been a board member since June 2005. He and his wife live at Hemlock Farms. Scott Myer, another lifetime Pike County citizen, is also a CPA, a local business owner, and volunteer financial advisor to many local non-profits. Scott is married, and has 2 children. He has served on the board since July, 2003 and has volunteered on many of its committees. This will be his fourth year as Treasurer. Sue Robbins has been reelected as board Secretary. She is case work supervisor for Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Pike County and president of the Pike County Inter-agency. She lives in Milford with her husband Mark, who is a teacher at Delaware Valley School District. She has been a board member since May 2004,
