DINGMANS FERRY - The Pocono Environmental Education Center (P.E.E.C.) recently recognized Pride Enterprises Incorporated for its in-kind donation of $75,000 worth of services towards the construction of the center’s new visitor activity center, which opened in April. The $75,000 in-kind donation is comprised of $50,000 for project management throughout the length of the project and $25,000 for direct on-site supervision. The American Institute of Architects honored the new dining, education and recreation facility in 2006 for its unique design and its many sustainable ‘green’ properties. Pride Enterprises brought these sustainable design features to life including passive solar heating, natural ventilation methods, energy efficient insulation, day lighting, and the use of recycled and non-toxic materials for construction. The Center’s Executive Director/CEO Jim Rienhardt spoke of the company’s generous contribution, “This donation from Pride Enterprises allowed us to complete this incredible building. We want to thank them for their hard work in constructing the new facility and we are very grateful for all of the support they have given us throughout the course of the project.” Pride Enterprises, Inc., based in Norristown, operates as a builder, construction manager and construction consultant and primarily focuses on renovation and retrofit projects.
