Dingman - Residents of Gold Key Lake held their second annual Memorial Day service last Sunday. Father Paul Mullen of St. Vincent’s Church of Milford officiated over the ceremony which was held at the Gold Key Veterans Memorial Monument. It was a double ceremony as it was to honor those that have served and died in the military and to honor First Lieutenant Louis Allen, a former Gold Key resident, on the first Memorial Day after his death. Allen was killed in Iraq on June 8, 2005. There were about 40 people in attendance including about 15 uniformed veterans. Father Mullen led the group in prayer and song during the 40-minute ceremony. Music was provided by a singer and guitarist as well as a lone bagpiper.
