Rendell signs anti-smoking bill

HARRISBURG Governor Edward G. Rendell on June 13 signed into law the Clean Indoor Air Act, designed to protect Pennsylvanians from the deadly health effects of secondhand smoke by prohibiting smoking in most public places, including restaurants, workplaces and a portion of casino floors. The ban takes effect 90 days from the date of Rendell’s approval.
