to prison in Pike County Court Milford - A drug dealer with a long history of drug trafficking convictions was sentenced to 7½ to 15 years in Pennsylvania State Prison in Pike County Court on Apr. 5. DeShawn Gibson, age 32, of Middletown, N.Y., plead guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance in February of this year. The charges arose out of an investigation conducted by the Pike County Drug Task Force in the fall of 2005. According to Pike County First Assistant District Attorney, Ray Tonkin, Gibson was identified as the main supplier of cocaine to a group of individuals that would then distribute the drug in the Matamoras and Milford area. Gibson was charged with conspiracy for his participation in this network and for selling 28 grams of cocaine to an undercover Pennsylvania State Trooper in Oct. 2005. During Gibson’s participation in this drug organization, he was on parole in New York State for a previous drug trafficking offense. Prior to sentencing Gibson, Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen, noted that nothing indicated that Gibson had any drug addiction problems. From that, Kameen concluded that Gibson was solely a drug dealer. This was just the latest long sentence handed down for a drug dealer in Pike County Court. Last month, Robert Regan was sentenced to 7-14 years for his role in distributing a large quantity of heroin in Pike County. Regan was the first offender sentenced in Pike County under the new minimum mandatory sentencing structure for drug dealers who possess firearms as part of their trade.
