Restaurant Week Along the Delaware'
Special offers make it time to explore our restaurant cuisine Milford Taking a cue from New York City’s Restaurant Week, a local public relations firm is launching “Restaurant Week Along the Delaware, which will span from Oct. 19, to Nov. 1. This two-week culinary event invites restaurants, businesses and place to stay to participate in this experience which will prolong tourism during the fall foliage season, as well as get locals excited about the many top-notch restaurants that are right in their own back yard. From Narrowsburg, N.Y. to the Delaware Water Gap, KKPR Marketing and Public Relations invites all businesses and restaurants on both sides of the Delaware River to get involved in this venture, which will encourage locals to cross the river, as well as give tourists additional information and incentive to visit the Tri-state area. Participating restaurants will offer a three-course, prix-fixe meal for under $32, including tax, and some may even offer a three-course prix-fixe lunch for under $15. KKPR is also encouraging businesses and places to stay that are taking part in Restaurant Week Along the Delaware to offer discounts, sales or packages to customers during the two weeks to help boost their own business in what is typically a slower part of the season. “Restaurant Week Along the Delaware has been very well received,” said Katrina Foster, of KKPR. “I am pleased that we have gotten such a positive response from the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Orange County Tourism, and a host of media, all of which are becoming sponsors to help promote the event. Every day more and more businesses and organizations are getting involved.” The website, www.delawareriverrestaurantweek.com, which launched in August and will be continuously updated, will promote the participating restaurants, businesses and places to stay with a focus on Facebook, Twitter and viral marketing as well as traditional media. Featuring photos by KKPR’s own Kienda Phillips, the website showcases the beauty of the Delaware River and the Tri-state area. Visitors can log onto the Web site, view the participating restaurants, including their prix-fixe menus, and have a host of places to stay and things to do right at their fingertips, making it a one-stop-shop for information along the Delaware River. Foster is also working closely with Delaware Food & Wine and Capital Wine & Spirits to produce a kick-off cocktail event along the Delaware River.
