Safe Haven training scheduled

Peggy Emanuel, administrator of Crisis Intervention Services and Sheila Korick-Houston, volunteer/hot line coordinator of Safe Haven, Inc. of Pike County, look over the current list of names for the upcoming 60-hour Crisis Intervention Class for new volunteers. Safe Haven, a not-for-profit agency, provides services for victims/survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. There are many different ways to volunteer. Certified volunteers cover the 24-hour hotline, work in the office, volunteer at the correctional facility, and provide community outreach services. The new training class will start on Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will end May 10. All other classes will be held Monday and Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity and would like to be a part of the Safe Haven organization, call Peggy at 570-296-2827.
