Breakfast was served to what seemed like a never-ending line of adults and children last Sunday as Dingman Township Fire Department hosted Breakfast with Santa. For three hours they were packing in hearty breakfasts, with trays full of scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, fried bologna, bacon and home fries, as well as an assortment of cold and hot beverages from orange juice to coffee. While breakfast continued, parents brought their children to sit on Santa’s lap with Mrs. Claus at his side. Erin Hartey, 6, in the red dress, was in the front row with Derek Metzger who is also six. In back are Austin Kuhn, 13, and to his right was 12-year-old Shane Hartey. The hall was comfortably noisy and filled with sounds of Christmas with all the kids having fun, which of course delighted all the parents. On hand was Fire Chief Bill Mikulak and Assistant Chief Mark O’Brien and a host of other fire department volunteers. Mikulak said special thanks go to Doris and Frank Bannon who have been Santa’s helpers for the department for many years.
