Shelter investigates cruelty case
SHOHOLA - The Pike County Humane Society is looking for any information on this male English Bulldog. The shelter was called at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday March 9 to pick up a dog left abandoned in a parking lot. They responded to a tavern on U.S. Route 6 in Shohola. The bulldog, who they are calling “Frank”, was locked in a crate and described as “cold, scared and unsure of where he was due to his failing eyesight.” He had a collar and leash on and a blanket in the crate. Frank is an un-neutered male bulldog, white body with tan markings, cataracts on his eyes and estimated age of 6 years old. Shelter officials say there is no reason to commit a crime of abandonment which is punishable by up to six months in prison and fines of up to $1,000. The Humane Society is available for drop-offs during regular business hours. They are seeking the public’s help in finding the owner and bringing Frank some justice. Call 570-296-7654 or 570-296-6080 and ask for Barry.
