Sixth grade news reporters at Shohola Elementary School

This year, Alison Newman, classroom correspondent advisor, wanted to find something “extra” for her sixth grade TV news members. The six students have been members of the school TV news team for the past two years. Since the students remained at Shohola Elementary School this year, Newman felt it was important for them to broaden their horizons. The team of six have been working as newspaper reporters at the school. Each member chooses a grade level to concentrate on for a week. They are responsible for interviewing teachers and students, writing a brief article, and taking pictures of the events they write about. Once they turn in their work, Newman reviews it and sends it off to the local papers. So far, it has been a huge success. The team members enjoy searching for their published work in the local papers and displaying it around the school. (Contributed photo)
