Some New Year resolutions

On Monday night, a newly reappointed Milford Borough Council President, Matt Osterberg, listed continuing renovations to the pictured borough hall and renewed merger discussion with Eastern Pike Regional Police officials as two of his priorities for 2008. Osterberg said Milford would borrow money to continue building renovations and would pursue an offer from the Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County to partner its borrowing effort. Four other items made Osterberg’s list. The borough in 2008 will begin enacting some of the recommendations of an extensive traffic study, which initially will include making some alleys in congested areas into one-way streets. He said the borough will pursue purchase of property for municipal parking, or suffer big problems in the next decade after a new courthouse is built. His list also included highway maintenance consolidation talks with Milford Township and renewed efforts to reduce borough insurance costs. (Photo by David Hulse)
