Allison Decker is national qualifier in cross country

— East Stroudsburg University junior Allison Decker finished sixth to earn a trip to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at the NCAA Atlantic Regional on Dec. 5 at Lock Haven, Pa.

Decker is a 2013 graduate of Delaware Valley High School, where she ran both cross country and track and field. Decker earned her second straight All-Region honor.

The former DV Warrior had six top ten finishes this season, three of which included first-place finishes. She will compete in the NCAA DII Championships at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri.

Decker is the ninth ESU women's runner to qualify for the NCAA's individually, combining for 14 NCAA spots. She ran 20:53.2 on the 6K course.

Decker's time is the best 6K time in school history, besting Wernerspach's time of 21:03.

She is the daughter of Chris and Diane Decker of Milford.
