WESTFALL - The Warrior girl’s tennis team played their last match of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 11, winning the game and defeating North Pocono, 4-1. The team’s overall record was 8 wins and 4 losses. At the high school, the tennis team gained an additional two courts this year which players said was useful during their home matches. “The team did really great this year. I’m so lucky to be able to be captain of such amazing girls,” said senior and team captain Kristina Bensley. This season also included a trip to districts tournament play for some players. Jill Krause and Laura Sullivan attended singles districts. Sullivan made it to her second round and Krause played in the quarterfinals. In doubles districts, Melissa Scarlino and Tina Martine made it their second round. Kristina Bensley and Jill Krause took home a bronze metal. Bensley adds that all of the seniors (all of whom won their last match), Marque Hampe, Jill Krause, Melissa Scarlino, and Kim Wagner, will miss Warrior Tennis and their coach, Tyler Dennis.
